🐂 About The Latz Dance: *Cue Sirius*
The theme for this squad has a bit of an opposite effect, as contrary to the 90’s Bulls putting together one last ride, this is actually the First Dance together for the majority of this squad.
Latzke and Harrington are the only 2 remaining founding invitees that have never played together before (even stemming back to the former Ryder Cup years)... until now. Thankfully they have cemented off-the-course chemistry going back decades to backyard football and ‘shots for cash’. However, they’ve also never paired with Proch and Ford, but those 2 do bring chem of their own, from their Rookie Fowlers debut where they went to OT in the Brother Bowl championship.
Any squad with Stinzy MJ brings firepower, and he is joined by 3 teammates coming off successful INVY 11 performances as all 4 players made the Final 4 last year. Joey Friday Rodman Ford looks to build off his 6-0 Round Robin career, and Prochno Pippen is seeking his first ring after 2 runner-ups in 2 years. It’s on Captain/Coach Phil Latzon to try and lead the ‘troops’ (11 Nation Army shout out) to glory.
The Bulls will represent “The Lindy City” and come in with expectations to blow their competition away.

🎌About the Sake Bombers: The Shohei Ohtani of versatility when you pair Booden’s long ball ability with the short game of Warner, and the all-around steadiness + high ceiling of both Tuma and Ebenreiter’s games.
A multi-MVP, a former ROY, and 2 reigning MIP candidates (highlighted by Mebo who won his record-breaking 2nd), this squad has it all. Warner and Mebo have Championship experience and will look to add to the mantle with Tuma and Booden who are seeking their first ‘Non-Ryder Cup’ titles.
One looming question will be on-the-course chemistry as the majority of this squad has never played together. It will be on first-time Captain Mebo to put together the proper pairings come Saturday, but Vegas has high expectations for this squad.

🧊About Ice Ice Birdie: A uniquely formed team, as highly touted Rookie Brock Timion makes his debut alongside Big Z and Shotwell who have developed chem for years in their offseason Ryder Cup tourney (The “Knockoff Spieth Invy” as we call it).
Captain Andrew has had a microscope on him all offseason with the Shotwell Files being rumored to release, but he will look to remove any distractions and focus on the golf.
Joining them is the man himself, Chaka Nichols, who has steadily climbed up the MIP rankings these past few years and it appears the breakthrough is only a matter of time.
All 4 players are hunting for their first Crow Cup and they’re hoping the ice doesn’t melt come Saturday afternoon. Don’t be surprised if there’s an influx of Birdies and they live up to their name.

🍺About Peaky Birdies: Cameraman Wario, AKA Toddas Shelby, dons the C on his chest with the biggest wildcard team in the field, considering they’re the only team with 2 Rookies. The good news is that it’s a class that is being compared to the 2003 NBA Draft.
The scouting report on Hoopes and Hogan is both having extremely high-ceiling ball striking ability. Hoopes in particular has been seen working out constantly with Lethal Shooter this preseason. Don’t sleep on him making a case for ROY. Joining them is the veteran Duder “Facebook Moms beware” Haines on another team where every member is seeking that first ever taste of the Crow Cup.
They’ll be dressed to the nine’s so the question remains can they put together the winning effort needed over the course of Nine-hole matches.

🎤 About GHIN n Juice: Captain Freddy is seeking a 3-peat… I repeat (no pun intended), Freddy is seeking a 3-peat. It’s Nothin But a Spieth Thing when it comes to him and titles!
This team of former Baseball glory has effectively transferred their skills from the diamond to the links, approaching The Next Episode of Invy 12 with “high” hopes for a ring and will aim to Drop low scores Like It’s Hot.
The more playful Young Wild & Free rivalry of LaPointe and Fredericks joins the more intense cleating rivalry of Dolan and Dalton. Team Ambassador Paul Twenge will be donned the task of making sure they put the past bad blood behind them in their pursuit for a Championship.

Throw in Mr. Consistency Cullen McNeill and arguably the player who has steadily improved the most year over year in Gabe Boyce, and you’ve got a well-built squad top to bottom with zero weak links.
This team has by far more combined tenure than any others in the field and therefore will know the ins and outs of everything Little Crow throws at you. Weber is without a doubt on the Speith Invy Mount Rushmore, but he’s not alone here in terms of having an impressive Resume. Bradley and McNeill each have MVP’s + Titles of their own, and G-Boyce is not only a former MIP winner, but he seems to be in the running for it every year.
Unfortunately, in a preseason workout Boyce suffered a knee injury but thankfully he should be able to push through and play as he chases that first ever title. There are very few players tougher in the field than him, and we wish for a speedy recovery!
Overall, with strong firepower combined with depth, this is a definite squad to watch out for.

🚙 About the Designated Drivers: A great name/theme stemming back to Captain Nick Boyce being the inaugural Winner of the Linda Harrington Courage Award… AKA ‘The Most Prestigious Honor in Sports’.
It’s a tall task given to him regarding Team-Building as no one on this squad has ever played together. The good news is they have the reigning unanimous ROY Pedro, alongside Mitch Hendricks who uniquely brings in a lot of Little Crow experience, something we have never seen from a Rookie before.
Throw in Mr. 77 himself Luka Sampson’s long-ball ability and you’ve got yourself a dangerous unit across the board. This is a very high-ceiling team of golfers who can go 0-60 MPH in under 3 seconds.
They will aim for consistent speeds throughout the weekend though to avoid being pulled over or swerving and hitting that corner, woahhh. If so, watch out for them to make a drive down the Saturday Bracket board.
→ 3 nine-hole matches & 1 nine-hole team scramble
10 points possible for each match
1 point per hole won
1/2 point per hole halved
0 points for losing a hole
1 point for the match-winner
1/2 point for a tied match.
→ Record both the points and score on the scorecard.
→ You are able to concede putts to opponents (say that’s good if putt is close my goodness).
1 point for birdie 🦜
2 points for eagle 🦅
→ In the 4-person scramble, if you have missed your birdie shot, pick up and move on to the next hole.
→ Standard match play, both teams will split into pairs of two.
→ Your team is playing two individual 2-person scramble matches, versus the opposing 2 players you're paired with.
→ The aggregate total of up or down between the two matches will determine the winner.
→ If you win a hole you are 1UP, if you lose a hole you are 1DN.
→ Tied holes are a push; there is no carry-over.
→ Team that is up at the end of the 9 holes is the match-winner.
→ If tied after the ninth hole, there will be sudden-death playoff holes.
→ Both teammates are allowed one club length, no closer to the hole, from the original spot of the ball (with exception to the green and hazards).
→ Both players can “fluff” to a preferred lie, as long as it is within a club length of the original position.
→ If a ball is in the rough, sand, or fairway, both shots must be hit from the original type of playing ground.
→ Red and Yellow staked areas are hazards. The player who hit the ball into the hazard must play the ball as it lies, no fluff. Teammate is allowed one scorecard length, no closer to the hole.
→ All out of bounds will be played as lateral hazard (one penalty stroke). You may NOT play a ball in white stakes.
The horse race is a wagering contest: you pick which team you think will win The Invy. The total prize pool, already collected in the entry fee, stands at $2,400 this year ($1,800 for the winner pool & $600 for the loser pool). If you choose the correct team, you split the pot with anyone else who chose correctly. The buy-in entitles each person to two team choices for the winner of the Spieth and one choice for the loser of the Spieth. Choose wisely.
Mr. Andrew Weber will be in charge of picks after the opening ceremony.
