Squad,
WELCOME to the 9th Annual Invy! On behalf of the Tournament Committee, I would like to formally thank you for your participation. The 2023 Invy will be another record-breaking year as we have 28 players in attendance. And for the first time ever, we have a host of the tournament, the legendary Kenny Devine. LFG!

→ 3 nine-hole matches & 1 nine-hole team scramble
10 points possible for each match
1 point per hole won
1/2 point per hole halved
0 points for losing a hole
1 point for the match-winner
1/2 point for a tied match.
→ Record both the points and score on the scorecard.
→ You are able to concede putts to opponents (say that’s good if putt is close my goodness).
1 point for birdie 🦜
2 points for eagle 🦅
→ In the 4-person scramble, if you have missed your birdie shot, pick up and move on to the next hole.
→ Standard match play, both teams will split into pairs of two.
→ 2-person scramble, your best team score of two will count for team score on hole.
→ If both lowest team scores are tied, the next best score will count.
→ If you win a hole you are 1UP, if you lose a hole you are 1DN.
→ Tied holes are a push; there is no carry-over.
→ Team that is up at the end of the 9 holes is the match-winner.
→ If tied after the ninth hole, there will be sudden-death playoff holes.
→ Both teammates are allowed one club length, no closer to the hole, from the original spot of the ball (with exception to the green and hazards).
→ Both players can “fluff” to a preferred lie, as long as it is within a club length of the original position.
→ If a ball is in the rough, sand, or fairway, both shots must be hit from the original type of playing ground.
→ Red and Yellow staked areas are hazards. The player who hit the ball into the hazard must play the ball as it lies, no fluff. Teammate is allowed one scorecard length, no closer to the hole.
→ All out of bounds will be played as lateral hazard (one penalty stroke). You may NOT play a ball in white stakes.
The horse race is a wagering contest: you pick which team you think will win The Invy. The total prize pool, already collected in the entry fee, stands at $2,000 this year ($1,500 for the winner pool & $500 for the loser pool). If you choose the correct team, you split the pot with anyone else who chose correctly. The buy-in entitles each person to two team choices for the winner of the Spieth and one choice for the loser of the Spieth. Choose wisely.
Mr. Andrew Weber will be in charge of picks after the opening ceremony.
Hi, I am Andrew, how can I take your order?

Fore Gentlemen: Lindy’s Luck diehards are still emotional over the team’s divide, but now their fandom has been split into 2, with Stinz and the Milker on one half of the coin. The reigning champs team up with Adam “I’m gunning for MIP” Fredericks and Gabe Boyce - which is just great to see the OG duo of Harrington and Boyce paired up again. Any team with Stinz is dangerous, but now adding the tandem of Mark and Freddy who stayed overnight at the Braemar golf dome for an entire week straight this winter, along with G-Boyce’s veteran experience at the Spieth, has got to have the reigning MVP excited about a potential repeat.

Back 9 Bandits: Although it may have been a surprise to some to see Jimmy’s name with a C next to it, Farrow is looking to silence those doubters as he’s already orchestrated several full team practices - at which he reportedly hit his 9 iron 200 yards. MIP voters: watch out for a healthy Jimmy this year - as he attempts to *cyft* his team through the tourney. He joins up again with his Lindy’s Luck right hand man and reigning ROY Cam Posey, along with Cullen McNeill and Matt Galloway - who are 2 very proven players at the Spieth. This squad is lethal and could be the Vegas favorites come voting time Thursday evening.

Happy Chillmore: The ultimate gamer at the Spieth, Andrew Weber returns with a few new faces on his squad. All offseason golf analysts speculated about Schutt teaming up with Latzke, only for the official announcement to drop that he’s pairing with Web (immediately creating a heated rivalry between Schutt and Latzke). This is interesting as we also have the fresh rivalry brewing of Weber and LaPointe - showcasing this squad has lots of nemeses that they wish to take down. It’s not just a dynamic duo here though, as they also have the 3-time champ Ryan Bradley who you just know has been in the film room all offseason studying the Little Crow greens. Rounding out the squad is the hungry Rookie Adam Schroeder, known as the hardest hitter to ever play sophomore football at Minnetonka. If that power translates to the tee, the boys may be in trouble. Watch out for this squad.

Feelin’ Cocky: Slammin' Sammy claims his legacy isn’t on the line… but let’s be real, the 3-time champ was building a persy-Dynasty from 2017-2020 but then back-to-back semifinal losses has spectators murmuring about if he goes another year absent of the title game, is he still the Spieth GOAT? Joining Warner just like last year is his former Carver teammate Kevin Sampson along with Hybrid Kaiser, and the rookie Andrew Shotwell - who hopes to carry over his talents of catching punts from NFL players to the links. This is a very well-balanced squad from top to bottom, one to watch out for.

House Pargaryen: With an average height of 6’4” across the board, this squad looks more like an NBA or Olympic Men’s Volleyball team than it does golf, however they’re aiming to prove the doubters wrong. Jamaicans everywhere are ecstatic about Latzke and Booden reuniting, and paired with the duo is the electric rookie Kyle Dalton and fan-favorite Duder Haines. Not a single player on this roster has won a non-Ryder cup title, which is cause for concern on whether they have what it takes to hoist the Crow Cup Saturday afternoon. Only time will tell.

Have a Day: Weatherman Dave is looking for a brighter forecast this May to get himself back in the title game, after last year's surprising last place finish. Joining him are players with some recent accolades in the 2021 MVP Sean Devine, and reigning MIP Mebo. Devine’s two-time title experience hopes to carry over to the rest of the team who are all seeking their first taste at glory. Rounding out the squad is the beloved Chaka Nichols, who reportedly is missing the 2023 ‘Worlds Strongest Man’ competition for the Spieth as it unfortunately lies on the same weekend. This will be the first year that Devine and Galloway are split up, which will be an interesting tidbit to follow along all tournament.

Iron Giants: The biggest wildcard in the field consists of 3 rookies - James Zilverberg, Todd Kollodge, and Adrian Trow, who pair up with the veteran Nick Boyce. In addition to experience, team Chem is the biggest question here but the fact that Big Z felt Boyce would be better suited as Captain (a stunt similar to Charlie Conway giving up his jersey to Russ ‘Knuckle-Puck’ Tyler against Iceland in D2 Mighty Ducks) shows that maybe the chem has already been established. Kollodge enters the field with a lot of hype and the early popular pick for ROY, but we’ll just have to wait and see how this youthful team fares.
