Stinz Harrington, Jimmy Farrow, Cam Posey, Mark LaPointe
This team should come in with great chemistry, and with Harrington, you’re always in it, but you can only help but wonder if they’re still alive on Saturday afternoon, will those thoughts of doubt of having never won it start to creep in?
Everyone knows the story here as it has more chapters than Harry Potter - The most talented player in the field, but the only one who has both played in every Spieth and never won. Sources say he trained with Peyton manning this off-season, who is accustomed to failing to climb the mountaintop for many years until finally achieving it. Harrington hopes to do the same. Will this be the year?
Coming off of a gruesome Achilles injury, the biggest question here is health. But 5 Iron Jimmy has been rehabbing like no other to return to the links. He and Harrington have great chemistry together and could be a duo to watch out for.
Apparently is a good golfer? Not sure. Excited to meet him though and welcome to the Spieth.
The Milker returns to the Spieth looking to avenge last years disappointing finish for the 9 Iron Giants. With a wedding coming up in August, there is concern he may be more focused on writing vows versus reading greens. We shall find out.
Sam Warner, Ryan Bradley, Kevin Sampson, Gabe Boyce
Top to bottom this team is as strong as they come, both from a golf perspective as well as the weight room. Vegas currently has them as the favorites to receive the most votes in the annual Horse Race bets. Time will tell if they can meet the expectations.
Arguably the Spieth GOAT through 7 years, this first ballot Hall of famer can do it all. He comes in as the captain of a very talented squad, and will be facing tons of pressure. Can he live up to the hype?
No one studies their opponents in the film room more than this savvy veteran. Very capable of driving several Par 4 greens at the Little Crow, Bradley is a dangerous player to look out for if he can keep things consistent.
Sampson enters his 3rd year at the Spieth which for many has been the Turning point year. After finishing 2nd last year, he could very well help contribute big time to give his team another chance on Saturday, barring his BAC doesn’t eclipse .20 again.
After battling through injury last year, Boyce returns healthier and motivated to make some noise, especially if paired with Warner as those 2 have proven to be a lethal combo in years past.
David Dolan, Thomas Schutt, Tanner Haines, Jeremy Nichols
Inexperience is of course the lingering question with this squad. They should however have solid chemistry right out the gate. Sources out there also suggest they’ll be the first ever team to have Caddies at the Spieth with Chloe Lappen, Vanessa Martinson and Kendall Rae bryon rumored to be traveling with the team.
Returning for his 2nd year after a heartbreaking loss in the ship last year, this Runner up MVP is looking to lead his team of rookies and will have a lot of weight on his shoulders as not only their captain, but the sole player with Spieth Experience.
Swapping out his hockey stick for a golf club, Schutt comes in at the top of our “Rookies to watch out for” List. The greens at the crow have traditionally not been kind to Rooks in the past though, so we’ll see if he performs like a bender or a grocery stick.
The unanimous recipient of the first ever “Grizzly Wintergreen Pouches-Fan Vote Participant”, The Dude enters his first Spieth hoping to turn some heads. Many prop bets are already circulating on whether he will consume more beers, or make more putts throughout the weekend.
Another Rookie at the Spieth, Chaka completes this team of 2011 Skippers. Reportedly eclipsing 250 MPH ball speed on his driver, look for Nichols to attack greens like caveman attack wild rabbits.
Nick Latzke, Bryce Tuma, Taylor Currie, Mitch Ebenreiter
Team 4 comes in with arguably the most depth in the field. However, in recent years none of their players have made it past the Quarter finals, which could be serious cause for concern. If there’s one thing we do know, it’s that Michael Scott and Jan will be in Sandals cheering them on.
This veteran moved to Austin, Jamaica 3 years ago for the sole reason to be able to prep for the Spieth year round, however has not been on a championship team since. We’ll see if he is able to re-taste victory, or just more heartbreak.
One of the more prominent players since joining the field 3 years ago, Tuma is poised to trash talk his way through the tournament and hopes to back it up on the course.
Currie returns for his second year with a new set of clubs and gear after recently being sponsored by Bitcoin. He hopes to build off the momentum of being on last years Stableford champ squad, and become a Spieth champ.
When returning to the Spieth last year after a 5year hiatus, Mebo was slept on by the field similar to the way he sleeps in strangers cars, and he woke em up helping Breakfast ball make a sneaky run. He’ll look to build off that success this year.
Andrew Weber, Jake Booden, Nick Boyce, Jack Kaiser
The biggest wildcard squad in the field, this team is difficult to predict. They have the talent and the potential to Dom nearly any opponent they face, but consistency is the biggest question looming.
The captain of this squad comes in after a busy offseason of marriage and buying a house. Will these adult moves prove to be a distraction, or exactly what this former MVP needed to get back on top?
The 7Footer comes into this year making spieth history as the first ever player to be over 40 years of age. He is not letting that stop him though, as he has been training for a body building competition in addition to the spieth, and is looking to exceed his driving distance even farther this year.
Last years MIP but more importantly the first ever recipient of the Linda Harrington Courage Award returns coming off of a heartbreaking fantasy football championship loss. No one is seeking revenge more than Boyce, especially if he finds himself squared off vs Team 2 in a Boyce bowl rematch.
Hybrid Kais rounds out this roster of veteran players, his teams have come up short of victory in recent years, and he hopes to be the XFactor for this squad to help them achieve greatness.
Sean Devine, Matt Galloway, Cullen McNiel, Adam Fredericks
With the defending champs and last years ROY runner up, this team would far and away be the heavy favorite if it weren’t for you know who. If they show up, watch out for them to potentially make a deep run on Saturday afternoon.
The reigning MVP and only player in spieth history with multiple appearances, and zero non-1st place finishes, Devine comes in as the captain looking to lead his team to the top once again.
The other return champ and last years Rookie Of the Year teams up with his winning partner once again. He’ll look to avoid a sophomore slump and if he succeeds, watch out.
Last year's late fill-in Rookie made a statement early on with his High-draw launches off the tee, and there was no question he’d be back this year looking to see more success on the leaderboard in Year 2.
The only player in spieth history to back out 12 hours before the tournament because he forgot his sister was getting married, the question with Freddy is not only when’s the last time he’s picked up a club, but will he even be on the #1 tee box on Friday at 8am.
